Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Narrato app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Narrato.
1. The Service
Narrato ("we", "our", "us") provides an AI-powered text-to-audio conversion service that allows users to convert documents, web articles, and text into listenable audio ("Service"), accessible through our iOS and Android application.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Narrato. By using the Service, you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to accept these Terms
- You will use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws
3. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password secure and confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring your account information is accurate and up to date

4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Narrato only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Service to:
- Convert content that infringes on third-party copyrights (e.g., commercially published books without authorization)
- Process content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or obscene
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the Service infrastructure
- Use the Service for commercial redistribution of AI-generated audio without our written consent
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership of the content you upload to Narrato. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service (i.e., converting it to audio and serving it back to you).
We do not claim ownership over your content, and we do not use it for any purpose other than delivering the Service to you.
5.2 Generated Audio
The audio files generated from your content are owned by you, subject to:
- Any applicable copyright in the underlying source material
- Our licensing terms from our TTS provider (UnrealSpeech)
Narrato is not responsible for copyright infringement arising from content you choose to convert.
5.3 Our Property
Narrato, the Nora character, the app design, and all related trademarks and intellectual property are owned by us. You may not use them without written permission.
6. Subscription & Free Tier
Narrato is currently in beta and free to use. We plan to introduce premium subscription tiers in the future. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before introducing any paid plans that affect your current usage.
When premium plans are introduced:
- Subscriptions will be billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- Refunds will be handled in accordance with App Store / Google Play policies
- You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Audio output will be 100% accurate to the source text
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Narrato shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability will not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the jurisdiction where Narrato operates, to the extent permitted by law.
